'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sky Blues latest

A summer of speculation regarding the future of Coventry City goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has already begun, with Arsenal added to the list of clubs thought to be keen on the Ireland international.

'I can't do anything about speculation,' said Westwood, in international action this week for his country.

'Maybe it's just a little feather in your cap that you are doing well and people are speaking about you, but there have been no bids.'

Definitely leaving the Ricoh Arena is Elliott Ward, who has signed with Championship newcomers Norwich City.

Canaries boss Paul Lambert told BBC Radio Norfolk: 'He's got a terrific pedigree and we needed experience.'

Westwood (hopefully) and his City teammates will be watched by at least 7,000 season ticket holders next season, with the club's new boss apparently being given the thumbs up by fans.

'We saw a dramatic rise following Aidy (Boothroyd)'s appointment,' said commercial director Nathan Kosky, quoted in the Coventry Telegraph.

Steve Cotterill meanwhile, linked with the job before Boothroyd, could be managing against the Sky Blues next season after leaving Notts County.

Portsmouth administrator Andrew Andronikou is keen to appoint a new boss and told the Nottingham Post: 'His (Cotterill's) CV precedes him. He is the sort of motivator that our players need to take them forward.

'The fact he is out of contract at the end of the month is not a factor. We are looking for the right individual, not at their availability.'
