Next City boss: European Cup winner wants job

The most interesting candidate to emerge as a potential new manager of Coventry City is a former European Cup winning player and international team manager.

Romanian Laszlo Boloni, recently a Belgian title winner with Standard Liege has declared his interest in succeeding Chris Coleman, vowing to bring attacking football to the Ricoh Arena if he was appointed.

'I have the capacity to adapt very quickly and I want this challenge to manage Coventry City,' he told the Coventry Telegraph.

Boloni's interest would appear to confirm the attractive nature of the job in CV6, where excellent facilities both in terms of the stadium and training ground, a chairman who has shown a willingness to invest in the team and give his manager time and a squad of players better than their league position suggests all await the new man.

Who that will be remains wide open. A host of names are being mentioned and although Tony Mowbray and Eric Black are the bookmakers and fans favourites respectively, as of Thursday, there are a massive number of candidates in with a chance.
