Boro v Sky Blues: Who can cheer their fans up?

Boro v Sky Blues: Who can cheer their fans up?

Coventry City travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday with manager Chris Coleman having admitted that he is desperate for the season to end following the Sky Blues' fall down the Championship table.

Fixtures at the Riverside and at home to Watford remain before then however and if they are to improve on last season's points total, Coleman's side need to pick up a couple of points.

Gordon Strachan will face his former club on Saturday having seen Middlesbrough themselves experience a disappointing end to the campaign.

Play-off hopes were extinguished by a limp display at West Brom last weekend, a result that reportedly saw the Boro players go without their after-match pizza.

Strachan, like Coleman, is planning a busy summer in the transfer market but wants a display that gives supporters hope ahead of then.

'I want a performance that makes the fans proud of the players,' he told the local Evening Gazette.

'I want us to play football that people like watching.'
