Sky Blues v PNE: Ferguson eyes City scalp
Darren Ferguson brings his Preston North End side to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday looking to blood more youngsters after last weekend's win against Scunthorpe ensured they would be playing Championship football again next season.
'We have scrapped through, now I can really concentrate on next season,' said the Scot, who handed Danny Mayor and Adam Barton bows in the Iron game.
'We have three games left and now that we are safe, we want to finish as high up as we can.
'It wouldn't surprise me if we went and won these last three games and ended up in the top half of the table.'
A top half finish is still on for Coventry but they also need a result to be absolutely sure themselves of playing Preston again next season.
'If we do that (finish in the top half) it is progression from last year,' Chris Coleman told the Coventry Telegraph.
'It's a slow one but it's a progression.'
An exciting return fixture at Deepdale in mid-September saw the Sky Blues take the lead through Sammy Clingan before the home side responded to run out 3-2 winners.
