City transfers: Morrison still on the market

Clinton Morrison claims that talks between Coventry City and his representative over a new contract for the 30-year-old are at an 'advanced stage' but has urged the Sky Blues to wrap up a deal quickly.

'I definitely want to sign but when you are a free transfer anything could come along at the last minute,' said the experienced forward whose current deal expires shortly.

Morrison can sometimes split opinion amongst supporters.

When things are not going so well his histrionics towards teammates, officials and opponents can grate.

At his best however, Morrison's hold-up play has been reponsible for some of the Sky Blues' best football and he has maintained a consistent strike rate during his two seasons with the club, netting 21 goals in 72 league starts.

Have your say on a new deal for the player in the Vital Coventry poll, currently running on the site.
