Aloisi coming back to England?

John Aloisi is being linked with a move back to one of his former clubs by reports on Friday, alas for fans of the Australian striker it is not Coventry City but Portsmouth.

The 30-year-old currently plays for Alaves in Spain but is apparently wanted by Pompey boss Harry Redknapp.

Aloisi was a regular goalscorer at Fratton Park before financial problems at the South Coast club caused his sale to Coventry.

He will be best remembered among Sky Blues fans for scoring two goals in a 4-1 win at Aston Villa in February 1999 but was also used more as a substitute by manager Gordon Strachan despite his excellent goal ratio.
