Wise accepts Swindon post

Dennis Wise will not be back playing for the Sky Blues next season as he has accepted the chance to become the new Swindon Town manager.

The deal will be finalised on Friday for the 39-year-old, who had a highly successful spell at the Ricoh Arena after a surprise free transfer move in January.

His former Chelsea team-mate Gustavo Poyet is set to join him at the County Ground as Wise looks to take Swindon out of League Two at the first attempt.

Coventry City boss Micky Adams had hinted that he would offer Wise another playing contract if he did not make a move back into management.

Good luck to him. Not too long since Swindon were in the Premier League!

I think he has come to Swindon because we have our new investor who are looking to get us straight back up. I just hope the expectations on Wise are not his downfall.
