Window Watch: Elliott Ward

A round-up of the players linked with moves to or from Coventry City during the transfer window.

After easing his way through the West Ham youth system and then having a number of Championship clubs fighting for his signature before joining City for £1m, Elliott Ward may not have thought he would spend January 2010 kicking his heels in reserve, waiting for either his contract to expire or an offer to come in from another club.

Still only 24, the central defender has his admirers at the Ricoh Arena but knows that the man who matters, boss Chris Coleman, is not one of them.

A deal to join big-spending Southampton collapsed at the last minute during the window and Ward looks now to have settled on seeing out his Sky Blues contract before moving on in the summer.
