Swansea v Sky Blues: Striker light?

The chase for a new striker dominates the transfer gossip for both Swansea City and the Sky Blues ahead of their Liberty Stadium clash on Tuesday evening.

The Swans, who drew 1-1 at Middlesbrough on Saturday, currently lie 4th in the Championship table but have netted only 23 times in their 26 league games.

To that end they are searching for a new frontman, with Finnish international Shefki Kuqi now back on the radar after an ambitious enquiry for Jay Bothroyd of Cardiff City was snubbed by their fierce local rivals.

Chris Coleman meanwhile knows that Tuesday night may be the last time he has Leon Best available to him as the transfer window prepares to close.

He wants at least one new striker, to join incoming Carlisle youngster Gary Madine.

Vital Coventry is currently running a poll on where City need to strengthen and 78% of people to date have said that in attack is where new faces are wanted.
