Healy the best of slim striker pickings?

As he prepares for the loss of Leon Best, either in the current transfer window or when the striker's contract expires in the summer, Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is looking for an experienced striker, in addition to the impending deal for towering Carlisle United youngster Gary Madine.

David Healy is the main name in the frame again, with his Sunderland career looking set to finish sooner rather than later.

The Northern Ireland legend stands out, if only because there are few other options available with experience, who could play straight away in the Championship, who are affordable and crucially, who are available.

Gary McSheffrey's name is bound to come up again, while his squad-mate Kevin Phillips does not fit the Coleman bill of being around for the next few years, despite his undoubted quality.

Elsewhere in the Premier League (and the top of the Championship) there's slim pickings to be had and it may be the summer before City can find the man they want.
