1m City bid? Midfielder interest mooted

Tuesday's newspaper gossip, while continuing to claim that Keiren Westwood will be leaving Coventry City in January, also linked the Sky Blues with Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis McGugan.

While undoubtedly fitting the profile of the kind of player City are trying to buy, 21-year-old McGugan is far from being surplus to requirements at the City Ground.

With 100 appearances already under his belt, the midfielder has been restricted to mainly substitute outings this season but with Billy Davies's side pushing for promotion he is unlikely to want bright young talent to be leaving the banks of the Trent.
