Vital view: patience please against Posh

Chris Coleman called on Coventry City fans to vent any of their anger on him and not the players in the wake of the defeat by Newcastle, stating also that he thought the backing from the Ricoh Arena crowd had been good against the league leaders.

Sky Blues fans responded to a large away following and a good home display versus the Magpies but a bigger test for all concerned comes this Saturday against basement boys Peterborough United.

Coleman and his players know that the same level of performance is a must if they are to gain a crucial three points but the home fans have a part to play as well with Posh unlikely to prove a pushover.

Mark Cooper's side frustrated Roy Keane and Ipswich on Tuesday night with a defensive display described as 'outstanding' by their new manager.

More of the same is likely this weekend while City will also have to keep tabs on some tricky attacking talent.

If the Sky Blues are unable to break down their visitors there is no doubt the crowd will get restless, but ninety minutes of backing is needed before, if necessary, the boos are unleashed.
