Coventry vs Newcastle: The last-chance saloon?

So, after slamming his side as 'selfish' in their defeat at Scunthorpe, will Chris Coleman get the reaction he wants and needs when the runaway league leaders come to CV6 on Wednesday night?

Positive results for Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night could mean that the Sky Blues are in the relegation zone come kick-off time at the Ricoh Arena.

A big crowd and a big game could be just what is needed to kick-start an upturn in form. Alternatively of course a shell-shocked City side could be ripe for a rampant Newcastle outfit to boost their goal difference.

There remains no real appetite amongst fans for the manager to go as it is a situation that we have seen all too often before and know that it is not a magic solution to make things better.

But results and performances have been dismal and any flicker of hope generated by the draws with Crystal Palace and QPR was well and truly extinguished by Sunday's display.

The starting line-up at Glanford Park contained eight players signed by the manager in addition to Westwood and Best who have been this season's best performers (along with Clingan).

Nearly two years into his time at the club and City are in the same position as when Coleman took over.

For all his assertions that this is a better squad of players than the one he inherited, there are no more excuses.

It's last-chance saloon time.

here's hoping every Sky Blue has an evening to enjoy-it is time for all of the players to stand up and perform.
