City hope Barnett can ease defensive woes
'We've made no secret of the fact that we have been looking to strengthen at the back,' Coventry manager Chris Coleman told the club's website on Wednesday after agreeing a loan deal with West Bromwich Albion for 23-year-old Leon Barnett, primarily a central defender.
'I am delighted to get Leon until the end of January and we believe he will do a very good job for us.'
Barnett has fallen down the pecking order at the Hawthorns this year but was a £2.5m signing for the club from Luton when still only 21.
Speaking to www.wba.co.uk at that time, then Baggies boss Tony Mowbray described the player as having 'outstanding physical attributes' and 'raw potential'.
An immediate City debut at Derby on Friday night beckons, and with his path to the first-team blocked at West Brom, Barnett will be looking to impress both Coleman and other potential new clubs over the next three months.
