Derby v Coventry: Clash of the walking wounded?

Derby v Coventry: Clash of the walking wounded?

Friday night's live televised clash between Derby County and Coventry City has taken on plenty of importance for both teams given their poor recent form.

With the game also marking the passing of 1/3 of the Championship season, both Nigel Clough and Chris Coleman will be desperate for a three-point boost going into another international break.

Both managers can point to injury problems at present.

The Rams had a host of players missing for Saturday's trip to Ipswich with Clough unable to name a full bench for the Portman Road fixture.

Coleman meanwhile saw his Sky Blue kids well beaten by Reading at the Ricoh Arena and will be anxiously checking out news from the treatment table this week.

Last season's corresponding game was effectively settled by two early goals for the home side, Michael Doyle's reply for City not proving enough.
