Positive Coleman praises Sky Blues

Chris Coleman saw his Coventry City side fall to two tame away defeats following the international break and, with injuries biting, may have feared the worst from the visit of table-topping West Bromwich Albion.

The Sky Blues however looked far more solid, Jordan Clarke and Patrick Van Aanholt combining well on the left-hand side and midfield duo Jack Cork and Isaac Osbourne coming out on top in their respective battles.

Substitute goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopolous also performed well, lessening the blow of Kieren Westwood's injury with some decisive decision making.

'We were without Keiren, Aron Gunnarsson, Sammy Clingan, Leon Best - the spine of our team,' Coleman told the after-match press conference.

'So we had to play a certain type of game if we were going to get anything.

'Which is what we did and I have to give full credit to the players.

'Their attitude, appetite, hunger for it - I thought they were brilliant.

'Although it wasn't pretty, that is a positive point for us.'
