Carlisle man in?

Carlisle man in?

Carlisle United forward Gary Madine is set to make a surprise move from the fringes of League One football to the Championship, with a loan move to Coventry City on the cards according to reports on Friday morning.

Still only 19 years-old, Madine has come through the ranks at Brunton Park to make over 30 senior appearances for Carlisle United, mostly as substitute, but his expected progress towards the big-time has slowed in recent months.

In early 2008, the tall Gateshead born frontman was linked with a move to Newcastle United but he ended the season on loan at Rochdale.

Just a thought, if this loan goes ahead and Madine proves half as good as the Sky Blues last signing from Carlisle United, then we will have done well. That last capture from Cumbria was Keiron Westwood.
