City defender's chance to impress potential buyers
Elliott Ward is poised to start Tuesday night's trip to Watford, knowing that his Coventry City career may have only a few months left to run.
Ben Turner's injury together with James McPake's long-term absence from the side means the 24-year-old, back to full fitness himself after a minor knee operation, should get a decent run in the side and possibly impress interested clubs.
He told the Coventry Telegraph recently: 'If I play a few, which I want to and need to, then January could be an option but if I am not playing then people soon forget you and it will be a case of leaving at the end of the season.
'That's what I expect anyway, to see out the rest of the year and then leave. But until then I want to be playing and my aim is to push back into the team.
'Things do change in football so who knows what will happen but I believe it is set in stone at the moment.'
Patrick van Aanholt is set to replace Marcus Hall in the back four.
