Shell-shocked Boro next for Sky Blues

Coventry City return to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday to face pre-season promotion favourites Middlesbrough, with Gareth Southgate's side smarting from a 5-0 home reverse against West Brom at the weekend.

They have hit us with a sledgehammer,' admitted the Riverside boss.

'It has been a wake-up call.

'I've learnt a lot about some people today and it is better to know that now than later.'

New 'Boro signing Sean St Ledger may have wished he was back at Deepdale, where his former club Preston North End were battling back from a goal down to defeat the Sky Blues 3-2.
