Tables turned as Blades take eye off the ball

Last season's home game against Sheffield United came just days before the big FA Cup clash with Chelsea and Sky Blues manager Chris Coleman felt that was a key reason why his side were beaten by the Blades at that time.

Fast forward to Tuesday night and maybe City were the beneficiaries with United's big derby clash against Sheffield United scheduled for just 72 hours later.

'Of course we are focusing on playing at Coventry at the moment, but I have both eyes on facing Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night as well,' said manager Kevin Blackwell before the game.

'I would be lying if I didn't say that it is on my mind.'

What was on Blackwell's mind after the game however was his side's 'Mickey Mouse' defending.

'We spurned three or four nailed-on chances that would have seen off Coventry - there's no doubt about that - and then we give them goals,' he fumed.
