Sky Blues solid but scoreless

Coventry City and Huddersfield Town fought out a 0-0 draw in their pre-season friendly at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

City, who have completed the signing of Sammy Clingan from Norwich, showed good fitness levels and plenty of endeavour but lacked a cutting edge and struggled for width until the final quarter of the game when Ashley Cain began to make an impact.

Five Sky Blues youngsters ended the game on the pitch, a positive sign in one sense but also an indication of the lack of depth to Chris Coleman's squad.

On the plus side City looked solid at the back albeit against a Huddersfield side who experimented with a 4-5-1 formation in the first-half, former Ricoh Arena favourite Robbie Simpson ploughing a lone furrow up front.
