Championship 2009/10: Barnsley

Championship 2009/10: Barnsley

Recent clashes: One of the very few teams in the Football League who could actually call Coventry City a 'bogey' team!

The Sky Blues have not lost against Barnsley since being relegated to the Championship, winning 6 and drawing 2 of their 8 encounters since 2001 and scoring 4 goals against the Tykes on no fewer than four occasions.

Former Sky Blues: Goalkeeper Luke Steele has signed a new contract this summer and with Heinz Muller having left the club, Steele is set to be first-choice for Simon Davey.

Michael Mifsud ended last season on loan at Oakwell but is unlikely to return to the club.

Summer talking point: The future of manager Simon Davey was on the agenda after a close shave with relegation but he will be in charge again next season after convincing owner Patrick Cryne he is the man to take the club forward.

Coming to Coventry: For the first league fixture of 2010.
