A-Z of Coventry City transfers: K for Kilcline

Coventry City's FA Cup winning captain was another shrewd bit of business by Bobby Gould, who snapped up the imposing central defender for 60,000 from Notts County in the summer of 1984.

'Killer' gave the club good service in his natural position and also netted some vital goals over the years, both from the penalty spot and occasionally further afield, the pick of the bunch being a memorable free-kick against Crystal Palace in 1991.

A move to Oldham later that year saw City receive 400,000 for the player, who ended the 1991/92 season playing a key role in keeping Newcastle United in the then second division.
