Coventry City transfer talk: Week 7

Coventry City completed their first bit of transfer business this week but the sale of skipper Scott Dann was possibly not what fans were expecting. Birmingham City have signed the central defender leaving the Sky Blues with a hefty profit on the former Walsall man but also some work to do to convince supporters that a promotion push is still the aim for next season.

Further reports linking the club with Scunthorpe goalkeeper Joe Murphy may not help, given that his arrival would see Kieren Westwood sold to a top-flight club.

Richard Wood of Sheffield Wednesday is being linked again with a move to the Ricoh Arena and would be a direct replacement for Dann, while Norwich City midfielder Sammy Clingan has emerged as a target, with Robbie Simpson possibly moving to Carrow Road as part of any deal.
