Will Blues move for Coventry skipper?

Coventry City captain Scott Dann is thought to be on Birmingham City's summer shopping list as Alex McLeish searches for a commanding centre-half.

Although the Sky Blues are likely to give short shrift to any move for the former Walsall man, Blues are reported to see Dann as a possible alternative to Roger Johnson of Cardiff City, for whom they have had a £3.5m bid knocked back.

'It`s a starting bid but we have had little encouragement coming back from Cardiff,' a Birmingham source told the South Wales Echo.

"We were told that the price was well below what they rated the player.

"The danger is that we have other players to check out at other clubs in the coming days.

"They might be more positive in their feedback in giving someone the chance to play Premier League football."

If Cardiff are turning down £3.5m for Johnson then Dann has to be worth more given his age
