Sunday marks the end of the Championship season and the start of the transfer frenzy. Although deals cannot go through until June clubs are looking to get some early business signed, sealed and delivered before managers go away on holiday.
First out of the blocks to be linked with a move to Coventry City is Scunthorpe United striker Gary Hooper after a blistering season for the former Southend United youngster.
The latest in an impressive line of strikers to make their mark with Scunthorpe, Hooper certainly fits the profile of siging that the Sky Blues have been making since Ray Ranson and Chris Coleman came to the club and Coleman certainly needs a 20-goal forward in his squad.
Speaking after his goal in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Wembley earlier in the season, Hooper said: "I always back myself in those situations.
"I managed to get the defender one-on-one, got him off balance and managed to get a good shot off. It was great to score."
Midfielder Mark Fotheringham meanwhile is also being mentioned as a potential target for the Sky Blues.
The former Celtic youngster joined the Canaries after a spell playing abroad and was highly-regarded by former manager Glenn Roeder. Incoming boss Bryan Gunn however dropped Fotheringham and stripped him of the captaincy after his reaction to being substituted against Coventry earlier this year.
With the 25-year-old's contract set to to expire in the summer a deal was reached this week to let the player leave early.
Chris Coleman has moved quickly to quash the early rumours but with the manager unhappy at the way his side have finished the season, a summer of speculation is on the way.
