Transfers: Will City join race for 30-goal Cox?

Two of League One's most prolific strikers went head-to-head on Saturday and it was Simon Cox of Swindon Town who outgunned Bristol Rovers' Rickie Lambert.

Both men were on 28 goals for the season going into the game but Cox moved away with a double strike which also ensured Swindon's safety.

A host of Championship clubs have already been linked with the former Reading youngster as well as West Brom and League One champions Leicester City.

The Sky Blues are likely to be well aware of what Cox, 22 next week, can do and he certainly fits the profile of signing that the club have been making under Chris Coleman.

For now his future is uncertain, with contract talks set to resume at the County Ground.

"I`m waiting now until the final game finishes and then we`ll talk," he told the Swindon Advertiser this week.

"My representatives will go in to see the chairman and we will talk at that time. But at the moment, I`m still here."
