CCFC transfers: a small tweak or major surgery?

Just a few short weeks ago, Coventry City were gearing up for a relatively quiet summer in the transfer market, with a few select purchases to be added to a squad that looked to be on the up.

Now a dismal end of season run could see the exit and entrance doors at the Ricoh Arena come into play a bit more.

Those on the fringes of the first-team picture who have been handed a chance due to injuries have not impressed and the squad has looked short on quality during the final weeks of the campaign.

Certainly Chris Coleman's comments after Saturday's defeat by Watford, albeit delivered in the heat of the moment after a second-half collapse, indicate that more major surgery on the squad is required than was previously thought to be the case.
