'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Celtic not for me says Sky Blues star

Aron Gunnarsson says next season at the Ricoh Arena is his priority, not a move away from Coventry City in the summer.

An excellent debut season in English football for the Icelandic midfielder has seen him linked with a number of Premier League clubs, and most recently, SPL champions Celtic.

'I've read that some big clubs might be coming in for me in the summer but I'm not thinking about that. I want to stay at Coventry,' the youngster has been quoted as saying.

'It's not all about the money. I can learn a lot here, develop as a player, but if I went to a bigger team I would probably be on the bench most of the time.'

As well as his all-action displays, Gunnarsson has set up a number of goals using his long throw and could be due an assist for Saturday's winner against Doncaster.

Rovers' boss Sean O'Driscoll explained afterwards that veteran keeper Neil Sullivan did not clear the ball into the stands for fear of facing a Gunnarsson throw.

His clearance went straight to David Bell however and the City man superbly found the net from distance.
