'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Latest Championship transfer news

Approaching the business end of the Championship season and a number of clubs are weighing up that final signing or two to get them promoted, into the play-offs or safe from relegation.

Vital Coventry looks at the latest transfer gossip in the division.

Blackpool: Burnley midfielder Alan Mahon is poised for a loan move to Bloomfield Road.

Burnley boss Owen Coyle told his club's official website: 'Blackpool made an enquiry last Thursday and I said that due to Alan being limited to first-team appearances here, he could go on loan if he wanted.'

Nottingham Forest: The struggling Reds are being linked with a loan move for former star Marlon Harewood, currently in the reserves at Aston Villa.

Plymouth Argyle: Are among a host of clubs keen on Norwich midfielder Matty Pattison.

The Canaries however are not keen to lend a player to one of their relegation rivals.

Preston North End: Ipswich's out-of-favour midfielder Veliche Shumulikoski claims he is a target for the play-off chasers but will not be allowed to join one of his current club's direct rivals.

Queens Park Rangers: It's managers not players who are on the QPR wanted list, as Paulo Sousa comes under pressure after a poor run of form.
