Darby excited by Sky Blues return

Now part of Billy Davies's backroom team at Preston North End, Julian Darby was plucked from the lower divisions for Coventry City by his former Bolton boss Phil Neal in October 1993, and went on to make 62 appearances for the Sky Blues.

He is perhaps best remembered for scoring the two goals against Blackburn Rovers in the 1993/94 season that ended their title hopes.

Darby goes back to Coventry this weekend, but to a different ground, and told the official Preston website: 'It will be odd but I enjoy going to new stadiums.

'From all the accounts that I've heard it is a tremendous place to play football, lovely surroundings and I'm really looking forward to the game.'
