FA Cup: Big Sam's plans on hold

FA Cup: Big Sam's plans on hold

Coventry City are having a good week to prepare for their FA Cup tie at Blackburn but the hosts, who are currently involved in a relegation battle at the bottom of the Premier League, have a number of players away on international duty.

Manager Sam Allardyce told the club's official website: 'After losing our unbeaten record against Aston Villa and having so many players away this week, I am pleased that the next game is a cup tie rather than a Premier League fixture.

'It is always hard to plan as normal when a large slice of the senior squad is absent and, although the FA Cup is important to us, the Premier League is our number one priority.'
