Ex-City star plays down FA Cup clash

Stephen Warnock, formerly a Coventry City player of the season while on loan from Liverpool, comes up against his old club on Saturday when the Sky Blues travel to Blackburn for an FA Cup 5th Round tie.

Rovers are involved in a relagtion fight at the foot of the Premier League and the cup tie seems to a distraction for Sam Allardyce's men.

'It may sound disrespectful but the FA Cup is nothing to us this season,' said Warnock.

'For the club, the Premier League is all that matters. If we win the FA Cup and go down it won't mean a thing.

'The manager has already said that people's livelihoods are at stake. Jobs are on the line and that falls to the players.'
