Coventry City: transfer deadline latest

5pm on Monday is the cut-off for permanent transfers to be done, although Championship clubs will be able to re-enter the loan market after a short break.

Coventry City are set to complete the signing of Livingston defender James McPake ahead of his scheduled arrival in the summer.

'I think that is done. I need to talk to the chairman but I think he should be training with us on Monday morning,' said Chris Coleman.

'I am 99% certain he will be with us and he may not be the last one we get in, there might be someone else coming in on loan.'

Already in on loan is Sunderland winger Jordan Henderson, who made a positive impact against Derby on Saturday.

'There's been a lot of interest in our younger players, but, with this being a Championship team, rather than a League One or League Two team, we thought this was a particularly good move,' Black Cats boss Ricky Sbragia told the Football Echo in Sunderland.

'There were three or four clubs in for Jordan at a lower level, but we thought Coventry would be a real opportunity for him.

'It should be a good experience for him and we wish him every success.'

Another winger, Andrew Driver of Hearts, was the subject of a £1m bid from the Sky Blues earlier in the week.

'We haven't received a satisfactory offer but we have been discussing the player with them,' said Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov, quoted in Scotland on Sunday after seeing his side lose to Hamilton at the weekend.

Michael Mifsud meanwhile looks to have priced himself out of a move to Barnsley.
