Will City stars attract late top-flight interest?
The transfer window will close at 5pm on Monday, with a hectic days trading expected in the Premier League especially as clubs scramble to make the final additions to their squads.
For Championship sides, loan signings can still be made as of the week after next but the finality of the window in the top-flight means a late, late offer for a player has to be considered in the context of the next few months.
The Sky Blues for example could get an offer around 4pm on Monday for Kieren Westwood from a Premier League club and will know that if they turn it down, there is then no chance of selling the player until the summer even if finances take a turn for the worse.
That doesn't appear to be the case at the Ricoh Arena but it is a scenario that will be played out elsewhere, and to be fair, City themselves could benefit from it.
Livingston have been steadfast in their determination to keep hold of James McPake until the summer, but the worsening financial situation at the Scottish club, which led to more reports this week about unpaid wages, looks to have forced their hand and reach a deal to sell the player earlier than planned.
