Sky Blues' last chance to sell Mifsud

Coventry City have just under 100 hours to finalise the sale of Michael Mifsud before the closure of the transfer window and the likelihood that the striker will remain at the Ricoh Arena until his contract expires in the summer.

Wednesday night's frustrating display against Cardiff City could be the swansong of the one-time terrace hero, if reports of interest from Barnsley are true.

The Tykes have just signed Mifsud's Malta team-mate Daniel Bogdanovic although assistant manager Ryan Kidd has said: 'I've heard all the speculation surrounding Michael Mifsud, but that's all it is.

'Michael is a very good footballer, but we like to do our business quietly.

'We're looking to bring quality players to this football club and that is what we're working hard to do.

'There's been a lot of phone calls about players both coming in and going out.'

Chris Coleman meanwhile told the Coventry Telegraph: 'It has been really difficult for both parties and I think the quicker it happens for Michael the better for everybody because it is like a cloud hanging over everyone.

'He wants to move on and we have known that from the summer.

'A couple of deals have fallen through because unfortunately he couldn`t agree his personal terms, but I think Michael needs to move for his sake, and we need to move on also.'

I hope the Reds sign him. would be a very good addition indeed

Yeah I tihink he'll partner well with his fellow countryman, that could help seal the deal.
