'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bothroyd hoping to make Sky Blues return

A knee injury sustained against one of his former clubs Arsenal at the weekend could rule Jay Bothroyd out of playing against another on Wednesday.

Finally seeming settled after a nomadic career, Bothroyd will be hoping to play against Coventry City in the Championship clash.

"I became a better player at Coventry,' he told the South Wales Echo ahead of the game.

'There was a new Jay Bothroyd and that probably would not have happened if I had stayed at Arsenal.

"Arsene Wenger did not let me go because of my ability. It was because of my attitude more than anything else.

"I have a lot to thank Coventry City and Gordon Strachan for in terms of my playing career."
