'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Who is City's mystery striker signing?

A deal is close to bring a new forward to the Ricoh Arena on loan initially, with a permanent deal to follow in the summer, as Coventry City continue to, slowly but surely, improve their squad.

Reports in Scotland have suggested Darren Mackie of Aberdeen is a target, but Chris Coleman, while keeping his potential signing close to his chest, has said he is currently playing in England.

'We have had our eye on the lad for a while and we are hopeful something will happen,' he told The Telegraph.

If City look to land another lower division gem, Bury's Andy Bishop and Jamie Ward of Chesterfield are strikers with their best yet to come who are both being linked with a move up the footballing ladder.

In League One, Danny Graham of Carlisle is attracting plenty of attention, while the Sky Blues could also be looking at an untried youngster from the top-flight.
