Coventry City transfer latest

Coventry City have moved closer to strengthening their squad both in the short and long-term as they struggle to cope with a number of injury and suspension problems.

Defender Quido (or Guido depending on where you look) Lanzaat, is on trial at the Ricoh Arena with a view to signing a deal.

The Dutchman, who is a free agent after a nomadic career spent playing in his homeland, Germany and Bulgaria, has impressed Chris Coleman with his quality although a lack of match fitness means an immediate deal will not be done.

Coleman has also told the Coventry Telegraph that moves to bring in at least one loan signing for Saturday's game against Blackpool are close to bearing fruit.

Longer-term, reports in Northern Ireland suggest Institute youngster Philip Lowry is being watched by the Sky Blues.

'Obviously everyone wants to play across the water and I'm no different, but all I can do is keep working hard at both training and playing for Institute and you never know what might happen,' said Lowry, quoted in the Londonderry Sentinel.
