'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sky Blue 2008 - September

Coventry City ended September with a haul of six points from five games but were left to rue a couple of missed opportunities.

An excellent performance at Sheffield United should have brought more than a point home from Bramall Lane but the 10-man hosts equalised after Elliott Ward's missed penalty squandered a chance to make it 2-0.

Ward recovered to net the winning spot-kick against QPR, spoiling Iain Dowie's return to the Ricoh Arena.

The month ended however with a 2-1 defeat at Cardiff City during which some of the decisions made by the officials risked the wrath of Chris Coleman.
