New QPR man set for City debut

Coventry City's full-backs will come up against new Queens Park Rangers signing Wayne Routledge on Saturday after the former Crystal Palace, Spurs and Aston Villa man opted for a move to Loftus Road ahead of Cardiff City, where he had been on loan.

Another new signing for the R's, former Coventry man Gary Borrowdale, played alongside Routledge at Palace and told the Kilburn Times: 'I've seen him play for 12 or 13 years now and I've no doubt he'll be a great signing.

'Wayne's an out and out winger, which gives the manager another option.

'He was just unfortunate to get injured at Tottenham, then Aaron Lennon came in and he was on fire.

'But you've seen what Wayne can do at Cardiff - their results improved while he was on loan there and I don't see why the same can't happen here.'

The Sky Blues will be looking to repeat their wins of the past two seasons at Loftus Road, one of which was achieved after a late dash to the ground on the tube!
