Sky Blue 2008 - June/July
With Coventry City having (just) secured their place in the Championship, attention in the summer months was firmly on the players Chris Coleman would be bringing to the club.
Sticking firmly to the transfer plan implemented by new chairman Ray Ranson, City pursued the signings of players with time on their side and a hunger to improve.
The long chase for Freddy Eastwood was concluded successfully while, instead of waiting any longer for Kasper Schmeichel, the Sky Blues snapped up goalkeeper Kieren Westwood from Carlisle United.
'I think he's a very good keeper and he's one of the best I've seen (outside the Premier League),' Coleman told Sky Sports News.
'He's only 23 so you have to say that, potentially, I'd be right in making that statement.
'I don't want to put extra pressure on Kieren but he's a confident young lad and we're delighted that we've secured his services because we weren't the only show in town.
'Thankfully he's chosen to come to Coventry so we have to give ourselves a pat on the back also.'
Eastwood and Westwood joined fellow new signings Aron Gunarsson (from AZ Alkmaar) and Guillaume Beuzelin (from Hibernian) in the new-look City squad.
