Sky Blue 2008 - January

Coventry City won both of their FA Cup games in January 2008 to progress to the 5th Round, the highlight undoubtedly being the 4-1 victory over Premier League Blackburn Rovers, with Michael Mifsud adding to his reputation as a man for the big occasion by scoring twice.

However, Iain Dowie's attempts to impress new chairman Ray Ranson did not fare so well in the league, where City lost all four of their fixtures, including a derby defeat at Leicester City.

Off the field, the new regime give the first indications of the transfer policy they intend to pursue by snapping up highly-rated defenders Dan Fox and Scott Dann from Walsall on deadline day.

'Scott is an immensely bright talent,' Dowie said after landing Dann.

'He has a promising career in front of him and has age on his side.'
