Transfer Advent Calendar 18th Dec: Robin Shroot

The transfer window opens in 14 days and Vital Coventry is bringing you a new rumour everyday concerning Sky Blues past and present or potential new signings.

18th December: Former AFC Wimbledon winger Robin Shroot joined Harrow Borough in the summer and his displays to date this season have had the jungle drums beating in the Football League.

Coventry City along with Hartlepool United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Brighton and Derby County have all been tracking the player but Birmingham City lead the chase after inviting the Northern Ireland Under-21 international for a trial.

"He looks a good footballer, and he`s going to continue to train with us," boss Alex McLeish told the Evening Mail.

"He`s a nice kid, he`s confident, he`s coming up to 21. You`d be looking at someone that age to be getting into your squad."

AFC Wimbledon still hold the player's registration and the potential loss of his star player has upset Harrow boss David Howell.

He told the Harrow Observer: 'Robin has gone on trial with Birmingham but he didn't go with my blessing.

'People close to him are advising him and they have hooked him up with an agent, who in my opinion has not got the best of reputations in football or Robin's best interests at heart.'
