Transfer Advent Calendar 17th Dec: David Bell

The transfer window opens in 15 days and Vital Coventry is bringing you a new rumour everyday concerning Sky Blues past and present or potential new signings.

17th December: David Bell was linked with a move to Coventry City in the summer before the then-Luton Town midfielder opted to join Norwich City.

He may yet end up at the Ricoh Arena however if reports are to be believed.

Norwich are keen to land Elliott Ward from the Sky Blues in January but without the cash to make an attractive offer are said to be preparing a straight-swap deal involving Bell.

The 24-year-old has made himself a regular in Glenn Roeder's team over the past few months and occupies a position where the Sky Blues have found themselves short this season. Despite not being prolific himself, Bell has won praise for the number of goals he has set up.

Whether Chris Coleman would want to part company with Ward however depends on when James McPake makes his move from Livingston, how quickly Scott Dann recovers from injury and whether Ben Turner can make the most of his chance in the first-team.

if the swap deal was true - it would be a bad one.
