'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Transfer Advent Calendar 12th Dec: Daniel Fox

The transfer window opens in 20 days and Vital Coventry is bringing you a new rumour everyday concerning Sky Blues past and present or potential new signings.

12th December: It's always amazing what a goal or two can do for your profile, whether you are a striker or a full-back like Daniel Fox of Coventry City.

After Michael Mifsud scored twice against Manchester United last season, the next few days' newspapers were full of stories linking him with a £5m move to the Premier League.

Now Fox, scorer of three goals in his last three games, is reportedly wanted both at Wolves and in the top-flight and his transfer value has apparently rocketed to £4m.

The free-kicks are a handy bonus of course but it is Fox's displays at left-back that will determine how far he goes in the game and at present there is still work to do.

Whatever happens though, the stories themself are a vindication of Coventry City's new transfer policy.

Fox and Scott Dann were the first signings of the Ray Ranson era, both young and both hungry to improve.

The Sky Blues have the player under contract for a further two-and-half seasons and even if they decide to cash in at any point, will make far more than their original outlay.
