Transfer Advent Calendar Update: Elliott Ward

Transfer Advent Calendar Update: Elliott Ward

The transfer window opens in 22 days and Vital Coventry is bringing you a new rumour everyday until Christmas Eve concerning Sky Blues past and present or potential new signings.

10th December: Earlier in the month we opened the transfer advent calendar and wrote the following;

Elliott Ward will definitely not be sold by the Sky Blues in January but it seems he has admirers elsewhere in the Championship.

An article on our sister website www.sheffutd.vitalfootball.co.uk recently asked Blades fans who they would like to sign during January.

Chief among the names being bandied about was City's talented, but occasionally lackadaisical centre-half.

Ward recently notched up his 100th appearance for the club after a £1m move from West Ham United.

'I am pleased with the way things are going for me here and how I have developed,' he told the Coventry Telegraph.

'Obviously I would like to be higher in the league but I think I have progressed as a player and that my game has got better all round.

'But I have still got a lot to learn and that`s what the manager is here for and hopefully I can help the team get back up the league.'

Update: Maybe we spoke too soon however. Latest transfer reports are linking Ward with Premier League strugglers West Bromwich Albion as they look to strengthen in the New Year.
