Transfer Advent Calendar 7th Dec: Calum Davenport

The transfer window opens in 25 days and Vital Coventry is bringing you a new rumour everyday concerning Sky Blues past and present or potential new signings.

7th December: An example of the grass not always being greener on the other side, Calum Davenport's career has remained in neutral since his move away from Coventry City to join Tottenham in August 2004.

Since then the central defender has made less than 50 league starts, the majority coming during loan spells in the Championship with West Ham, Southampton and Norwich.

He is now at West Ham on a permanent basis following a surprise switch there in January 2007 but is reportedly one of the players that the London club are looking to offload in the New Year as they battle a potential financial crisis.

Injuries have not helped his cause but Davenport is behind the likes of Matthew Upson and James Collins in the pecking order and seemingly surplus to requirements.
