Transfer Advent Calendar 4th Dec: Darren Huckerby

The transfer window opens in 28 days and Vital Coventry is bringing you a new rumour everyday until Christmas Eve concerning Sky Blues past and present or potential new signings.

4th December: Like his MLS colleague David Beckham, Darren Huckerby is keeping fit during the off-season by training with another club.

In keeping with his down-to-earth style however it's not AC Milan for Huck but Lowestoft Town where he is keeping in shape ahead of the new season for San Jose Earthquakes.

Whereas Beckham will play competitively for Milan, Huckerby has not been tempted by the prospect of a loan deal in the UK and has announced what he says will be his last game on British soil, for a Norwich City Legends team against a Great Yarmouth XI on Wednesday, January 28.

"Things gone really well for me in the States, my only regret was not making the play-offs,' he said.

"That would have been unheard of from the position we had been in, but apart from that it could not have gone better.'

Huckerby made 94 league appearances for Coventry City between 1996 and a 1999 move to Leeds United, scoring 28 goals.
