A great landmark for a Coventry kid

A great landmark for a Coventry kid

Graham Alexander is set to make his 700th full league appearance on Tuesday, as his Burnley side come to the 37-year-old's hometown.

'To make my 700th league start will be great and if I can do it at my hometown club it will make it all the more special,' Alexander told his club's official website.

'I was brought up in Coventry and a supporter of them in my childhood, but they were a top-flight team at that time and I wasn't deemed good enough for that standard.

'It's not a bad milestone and there are a few that keep coming round the corner when you get to this age.

'There is no secret to why I have been able to play a lot of games. I haven't had many injuries, touch wood, and hopefully it will stay that way.'
